Role Description

This role runs the marketing technology portfolio, including the selection, implementation, integration, maintenance and adoption of technology. The Marketing Technology and Operations Manager will function as a domain knowledge expert to IT and Sales Operations. This role will also act as an internal consultant to marketing leadership to use technology to address company objectives and priorities, and establish a marketing technology roadmap that ensures alignment of technology improvements and acquisition with business objectives and operational budgets. This successful candidate will also work closely within Marketing Operations to drive execution, adoption, and meticulous operations of our technology and campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Supports marketing leaders and staff by delivering capabilities with current technology and recommending new solutions
  • Responsible for the documentation of the marketing systems architecture, the assessment of marketing systems and the development of a strategic technology roadmap
  • Develops plans to ensure data and process integration of systems that support key marketing processes
  • Leads marketing infrastructure deployment and integration, including outlining technology roles and responsibilities and evaluating the maturity of skills and process required to maximize technology
  • Ensures understanding of end-to-end marketing processes and supporting systems
  • Demonstrates marketing performance data to provide infrastructure consulting
  • Promotes the adoption and utilization of the company's current technology
  • Prioritizes, sequences and handles implementation and improvement projects
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet changing marketing and business priorities
  • Delivers effective organizational change and communications for technology implementation and process re-engineering within marketing
  • Advocates for marketing technology needs to IT and the organization’s technology council
  • Contributes to process and data governance initiatives to ensure technology management follows key governance standards
  • Coordinates planning of the technology budget and leads the allocation process
  • Captures and disseminates internal and external marketing technology standards
  • Lead multiple projects, including ownership of project brief, scope of work, resource allocation, facilitating approvals, and handling expectations and timelines
  • Build a model to track and measure program objectives for each technology from adoption to execution and optimization
  • Collaborate with the demand center and/or field marketing to ensure there is a cohesive creation, execution and testing/optimization strategy to increase engagement
  • Lead internal marketing automation administrators and specialists, and lead all aspects of the selection of agencies and third-party vendors

Requirements

  • Four or more years of marketing technology experience in an operations or digital marketing role
  • Experience serving, collaborating with and influencing executive management
  • IT project management experience, including the rollout of related applications (e.g. MAP, MRM, SFA) to sales and marketing audiences, is desirable
  • Deep understanding of marketing technology (e.g. MAP, SFA, CMS) and Web, advertising and e-commerce systems
  • Successful track record of delivering technology solutions on time, on budget and able to deliver results
  • Understanding of sales cycles and product lifecycles and their respective pressures on the marketing function to drive demand and revenue
  • Digital marketing/field marketing experience is desirable
  • Experience leading technology development projects is desirable
  • Consulting experience is a plus
