- Educative is looking for an enthusiastic Developer Advocate to connect with software developers around the globe. This is an early-career role ideal for someone who loves to code — but is equally passionate about writing, storytelling, and engaging with the developer community.As part of Educative’s marketing team, you will help create content that resonates with developers, foster relationships across various channels, and support Educative’s mission of making it easier for software developers to master in-demand skills.What You’ll Do
- Content Creation & Storytelling
-Create social media posts, blogs, tutorial videos, and other content that connect with a software developer audience.-Help produce short-form and long-form video content (e.g., demos, how-to guides, interviews) for social channels and community platforms.-Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to craft narratives that resonate with a global developer audience.- Community Engagement
-Actively participate in developer communities (social media, forums, user groups) to share knowledge and spark dialogue.-Listen to community feedback, questions, and trends; report insights to internal teams to improve our content, products, and strategy.-Opportunity to represent Educative at virtual and in-person developer events, meetups, hackathons, or conferences.- Social Media & Developer Platforms
-Contribute to social media strategies by brainstorming fresh, developer-focused content ideas.-Help manage day-to-day engagement on channels like LinkedIn, Reddit, and YouTube, ensuring messaging aligns with developer interests and needs.-Identify new platforms and tools (e.g., Discord, Slack communities, emerging social networks) to authentically connect with developers.- Technical Advocacy & Education
-Build sample projects or proofs of concept that highlight the value of Educative’s platform and content.-Provide technical expertise to other teams, ensuring marketing assets are accurate and relevant for developers.-Partner with Product, Engineering, and Content teams to understand technical features and translate them into developer-friendly documentation or demos.-Stay up-to-date with programming trends, new frameworks, and best practices, sharing key learnings internally and externally.Qualifications (must have)- Basic proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
- Passion for storytelling, writing, and explaining complex technical concepts to various skill levels.
- Demonstrated ability to create technical or educational content (personal blog, GitHub projects, university assignments, etc.).
- Strong communication skills—comfortable engaging with audiences on social media, forums, or in person.
- Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Nice-to-Haves- Familiarity with community platforms (e.g., Stack Overflow, Dev.to, GitHub Discussions) and social media tools.
- On-camera or public-speaking experience (campus events, hackathons, or personal channels).
- Passion for experimenting with new technologies (emerging frameworks, GenAI tools, etc.).
- Previous involvement in developer communities, clubs, or open-source projects.
