What We Need: 

The Director, Clinical Programs will report directly to the Vice President, Clinical Programs and Quality Management. The Director, Clinical Programs oversees the development, implementation, and management of clinical programs which ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards and support our mission of delivering innovative durable medical equipment solutions that improve patient outcomes.

What You Will Do: 

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Lead the design, development, execution and management of clinical programs to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, including those outlined by Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers, and ensure the organization complies with all regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, BOC, ACHC).
  • Lead the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to provide insight into program trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets for clinical programs including identifying cost saving strategies while maintaining high-quality patient care and evaluating ROI and financial sustainability of initiatives.
  • Identify gaps in care and develop initiatives to address inefficiencies in healthcare delivery.
  • Ensure that clinical programs align with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, ACHC, BOC).
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcome metrics to assess program effectiveness.
  • Develop, maintain and review documentation both internal and external documentation associated with clinical programs.

Clinical Leadership & Training

  • Provide leadership in clinical aspects of quality management, guiding staff in implementing best practices, protocols, and patient care processes.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on clinical programs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve clinical program issues and improve the effectiveness of clinical programs and patient outcomes.

Team Management and Development

  • Guide, mentor, hire, train and support team members to maximize performance, foster professional growth, and develop key skills.
  • Drive team objectives, align individual goals with organizational priorities, and manage team performance to meet business targets.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process, conduct regular feedback sessions, and provide constructive guidance to enhance individual and team productivity.

What You Have:  

At Synapse Health we’ve intentionally built a culture of kindness, collaboration and creativity, and we consider those qualities to be table stakes for any new team member. Additional requirements include:

  • Licensed healthcare professional (RN, LPN, RRT, CRT or other clinical certifications) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field. Master’s degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program development role, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in DMEPOS services or a healthcare setting that involves the provision of durable medical equipment and related supplies is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of CMS regulations and other industry standards and accreditations for DMEPOS providers.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems. 
  • Demonstrate organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrate analytical skills when problem-solving. 
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Demonstrate effective project management skills.
