What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Planning, control, and monitoring of Body system team-related technical (component & function), cost, budget, deadline, quality and styling goals, including ensuring the integration of all results into the overall concept (vehicle and platform development)
  • Achieving a balance of goals in terms of technology, weight, costs, deadlines, quality as well as decision-making in the event of a conflict at the specialist project level
  • Conflict of interest management regarding technical issues, other series, co-users, cooperation partners and development service providers as well as suppliers
  • Initiation of measures to achieve targets and reporting to Director of Products, Body.
  • Assist with the product timeline, quality goals, requirements and financial targets
  • Coordination of cross-team, departmental and cross-brand interface topics (e.g. BOM, Change Management)
  • Consolidate and identify all trade-offs and negotiate measures to resolve target conflicts across all departments
  • Bringing about decisions in the project-specific committees of the series (incl. platform committees)

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of professional experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices. 
  • Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience in working with agile or scrum methodologies.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Project, JIRA)
  • Excellent knowledge and proven track record of optimizing the target setting between product content, timing, quality and costs using criteria-based decision-making skills
  • Prior leadership experience with proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to success and performance and proven (technical) problem solving skills
  • Advanced (technical) experience and know-how in body-in-white, closures, exterior trim, and interiors.
  • Proven track record of bringing automotive projects from concept phase to mass production
  • Solid technical background and understanding of automotive industry, current trends and developments, EVs and software
  • Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Proven success in managing product budgets & multi-million dollar business cases
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $145,000-$165,000

Internal leveling code: M8
