About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Business Operations | People. Working within our People Success organization, you will spearhead initiatives that advance the highest-priority People Operations workstreams. You will work as a trusted thought partner with leadership to design and implement strategies, policies, and programs that ensure every department head, team manager, and individual contributor can do their best work.

Your scope will be varied and highly impactful, and both strategic and operational. You will own initiatives from ideation to implementation: discerning highest priority problems, crafting a project plan to address, and managing that plan to completion with a direct report and counterparts. You will work closely with senior members of our Leadership team on some of our highest-priority goals.

The perfect candidate will have a deep passion for building organizations and will possess a critical eye that uses first principles to design strategies that are best for Ramp, its various departments, and its people. Our ideal hire is excited to serve as an early member of the People Success team and thrives when asked to identify and act on the highest-impact projects in an ambiguous environment, whatever they may be.

Our People Success department is not your traditional HR function - we are a team with a wide variety of backgrounds that shares a passion for people, bias for action, and commitment to doing what works best (and not just what’s been done before). Our team is comprised of former founders, strategy and operations leaders in start-ups and Big Tech, People professionals, and multi-faceted generalists with a deep interest in empowering an organization’s people to do their best work.

This role is based in our New York office near Madison Square Park; we are open to interviewing San Francisco-based candidates on a select basis. We default to being in the office every day, but stints of working remotely are perfectly fine.

What You'll Do

  • Improve and action on high-priority People programs, potentially including: manager effectiveness and enablement, large employee experience projects, and systematic projects (performance review and promotion process, engagement surveys)

  • Serve as strategic director of all Compensation and Total Rewards initiatives, including: total rewards roadmap, compensation philosophy, equity refresh program, pay-for-performance considerations, executive compensation, and more

  • Build a People Analytics function: identify and track priority metrics through intuitive dashboards and develop plans to improve said metrics (e.g. regrettable and non-regrettable attrition, engagement score surveys, etc)

  • Lead large-scale People Operations projects, including identifying, selecting, and project managing migration to HRIS software that can power us through our next phase of growth

  • Work with leaders – from our most senior executives to frontline managers – to bring your work to life, assess impact, and iterate

  • Act as coach and trusted advisor to senior leaders, mid-level managers, and individual contributors

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of experience in a combination of non-People (consulting, finance, high-caliber tech operations) and People roles (HR, Operations, Compensation)

  • Strong analytical skills: ability to build complex financial models and distill distinct insights from said models; fluency in interpreting cap tables and P&L statements

  • Superior project management abilities: great at creating compelling strategies and programs, generating  buy-in from stakeholders, and implementing them

  • Problem-solving guru: strong ability to identify opportunities to implement and improve processes to increase operational leverage

  • High IQ and EQ: you have a lot of intellectual horsepower and the ability to earn trust among leaders through perceptiveness, authenticity, and empathy

  • Top-notch written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Desire to work with other hardworking and supportive coworkers and not be a jerk

Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)

  • 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you

    • Partially covered for your dependents

    • One Medical annual membership

  • 401k (including employer match on contributions made while employed by Ramp)

  • Flexible PTO

  • Fertility HRA (up to $5,000 per year)

  • WFH stipend to support your home office needs

  • Wellness stipend

  • Parental Leave

  • Relocation support for NY

  • Pet insurance
