Sr. SWE I -Senior Software Engineer AI Tools - Zinnia

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Continuously develop new features and enhance our platform to help people secure the insurance coverage they need for their families, homes, and finances.
• Learn new frameworks and tools to build and support features across multiple platforms and tech stacks.
• Collaborate on a cross-functional team to identify, prioritize, and take opportunities to help customers get the financial protection they need, and feel good about it.
• Architect and maintain scalable, extensible code to empower our entire engineering organization to ship products across platforms.
• Build cross-platform products and features using React, Typescript, Python.
• Mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and setting best practices.
• Architect enterprise solution and ensure quality deliverables

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Expertise in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript if working on AI-driven web applications.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, serverless architectures, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Profiling and optimizing AI models, inference pipelines, and real-time AI systems.
• Handling large datasets
• Experience integrating LLMs with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Chroma).
• Building internal tools for AI researchers, integrating AI into developer workflows.
• Understanding transformers, fine-tuning models, RLHF, and inference optimizations.
• Experience designing RESTful & GraphQL APIs for AI services.
• SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Big Query), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), and vector databases.
• Experience with observability to monitor AI systems.
• Working closely with ML researchers, product managers, and DevOps teams.
• Experience with Agile, Kanban, CI/CD pipelines for AI tools.
• Ability to explain AI models, trade-offs, and infrastructure decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Staying up to date with AI advancements and contributing to AI research/tools
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS, AI, or Related Field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-10+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years in AI-related projects.
• Experience at an AI-first company or research lab is a strong advantage.

YOU’LL STAND OUT IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN:

• Experience working with openAI models, Azure AI toolset.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience integrating across disparate internal infrastructure
• Fine-tuning and deploying GPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral models.
