The Opportunity

Mosaic is looking for an experienced leader to join its Finance team as Vice President, Strategic Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance & Accounting, the VP will manage the corporate and business financial planning and analysis functions and partner with the senior leadership team to develop and execute Mosaic’s strategic plans. The VP will be a cross-functional partner, who can synthesize data and analysis and deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior leaders throughout the organization. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with consistent access to the CEO, CFO, and board members.

Location

This is a remote role with up to 25% travel. Candidates in the Northeast or Southeast regions are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Enhance Financial Modeling Tools: Manage an integrated business planning process across all functions, and evolve all facets of financial forecasting including: annual budgeting, rolling re-forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and long-range planning
  • Integrate Liquidity Modeling and Forecasting: Spearhead the streamlining integrated FP&A program to integrate liquidity modeling tools with other forecasting mechanisms to provide a holistic view of liquidity management, fostering efficient cash flow analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Corporate Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive corporate financial analysis within the integrated FP&A framework. Utilize integrated modeling tools to analyze liquidity trends, profitability metrics, and operational efficiencies, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses, funding, liquidity, and investments; highlight trends and analyze causes of unexpected variances; develop and present recommendations to executives and operational leaders
  • Executive Decision Support: Create, enrich, and maintain financial models to support value-driven decision-making and inform key stakeholders across the organization of the financial implications of key business decisions
  • Partner with product, business, and other departmental leaders to create and manage functional plans and budgets, conduct financial reviews of departments, and provide leaders with business insights to drive growth, efficiency, profitability, and operational improvement.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Support the CFO in all communications with the board, leadership team, investors, and other stakeholders, preparing materials, conducting analysis, and helping shape our narrative
  • Interface with multiple private equity owners & investors to provide financial updates and insights.  Support due diligence requests with lenders and other third parties.
  • Strategic Financial Planning:  Provide financial analysis, decision support, and appropriate challenge to our product and business organizations as we evaluate new products, new markets, and new business partnerships. Evaluate all new business opportunities by quantifying forward-looking financial impact 
  • Support ad-hoc financial modeling and analysis to foster informed, strategic decision-making, including market analysis, business case development, corporate financial analysis, and cost analysis.
  • Take on a lead role in developing and executing corporate development and financing transactions 
  • Risk Management Integration: Partner with the Risk team to provide key insights into performance and financial trends, linking leading indicators in current business drivers to future strategy

 

Key Skills and Experience

  • 8-10 years of demonstrated success leading strategic finance and planning within a dynamic financial organization. 
  • Prior experience in corporate finance, management consulting, or investment banking is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have a consistent track record of outstanding financial and strategic analysis and delivering meaningful recommendations based on this analysis.
  • First-class financial analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, able to bring structure to ambiguous problems, generate hypotheses, coordinate research, fluently manipulate data, conduct analysis, and synthesize insight.
  • Knowledge of financial and data analysis tools that can be utilized to enhance existing capabilities and models
  • Additionally, the candidate should have experience in data integration, enabling connectivity with ERP systems, databases, and spreadsheets. 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to use numbers to tell a business story, able to tailor message and content to different audiences, including a board level audience
  • Expert knowledge of financial statements and business analysis, in addition to corporate finance and accounting concepts.
  • Possess the ability to partner with and influence business partners and executives across the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and retain key talent, drive prioritization of work for the broader team, and improve productivity/output.
  • A get-things-done mindset, able to think strategically and take initiative to move forward tactically, continually iterate and improve, while anticipating demands of leadership.
  • Agile mindset, embracing a fast-paced and dynamic environment and desire to get deep into the weeds when needed.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $250,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
