The company is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is a spin-off of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). CFS is a member of the United States Department of Energy’s INFUSE public-private knowledge innovation scheme, with Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and the MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center.
