OpenX is seeking a Business Development Director with significant experience in the programmatic ecosystem. This executive will represent OpenX to leading publishers and other supply partners. The focus of this role will be on finding strategic, long term partnership opportunities that leverage the OpenX exchange, PMP platform, identity/data assets, and CTV publisher product suite to drive increased value for publishers and OpenX.

The Business Development Director is an important member of the team and is expected to leverage deep knowledge of publishers and the programmatic ecosystem in order to bring on new supply, enhance and improve our product suite, refine our value proposition and broaden our understanding of the markets in which we compete. This person will own OpenX’s relationship with their assigned publishers and serve as a partner to the other publisher-facing teams such as Account Management and Sales Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new supply with top publishers across CTV, app, web, native, and DOOH formats.
  • Drive supply expansion and go to market strategy into key international markets (Canada, LATAM)
  • Grow OpenX's retail media business with e-commerce publishers for supply and data monetization both onsite and offsite
  • Negotiate and structure regional and global commercial contracts for supply and data
  • Partner with Account Management to co-own a book of strategic existing publishers where you upsell products and act as trusted advisor on industry topics (CTV, AI, privacy first solutions, curation, etc.)
  • Source market feedback, competitive intel, and provide insights to shape OpenX’s product roadmap and innovation
  • Support OpenX’s buy-side teams on inventory and data pitch’s to secure and activate new deals
  • Represent OpenX at industry events and through thought leadership
  • Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years programmatic sales experience in ad tech or publisher-side
  • Proven track record exceeding quota and managing enterprise partnerships
  • Existing relationships across premium publishers
  • Deep understanding of programmatic ecosystem and retail media networks
  • Strong executive presence and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • High energy, self-motivated with startup mindset
  • Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in the LATAM and Canada markets
  • Spanish speaker
  • Direct CTV partnership experience
  • Experience with identity and audience solutions
