- Create champions for Carta’s private equity products within firms, as well as the PE firm ecosystem at large, by developing scalable strategies for, and engaging with, partners that support private equity funds
- Build relationships with private equity firm procurement teams and own partnership and referral agreement negotiations
- Be the primary business lead for internal partners to implement successfully negotiated deals
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Delivery, Implementations and Support to, among other things, implement successfully negotiated referral agreements, drive referrals, and collect feedback from the industry and inform the strategy that will deepen private equity ecosystem relationships
- Promote Carta’s thought leadership in the PE space, helping Carta to drive effective and engaging content to progress the industry’s thinking and grow its increasing focus on Carta
- Leverage Salesforce to map partner contacts by firm and geography, and maintain the business development team’s partner database
- Represent Carta in the field, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events on Carta’s behalf (up to 25% travel)
The Team You’ll Work With
You’ll be joining our Business Development team. The Business Development Manager, Private Equity will represent Carta in-market and advance the company’s efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities for private equity funds. The Business Development team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing impactful external relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, helping to change practices, and creating more owners across a rapidly evolving industry.

Qualifications
- Strong negotiations skills and a knowledge of procurement processes within private equity funds
- Demonstrated knowledge of the private equity/buyout industry
- Relevant network of contacts within the private equity ecosystem, including the service providers that support the firms
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with key leaders and decision makers
- Deep understanding of SaaS business models
Nice-to-Have
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Front
- Prior experience building relationships or servicing funds as an industry partner supporting private equity firms
- Based in NYC
Salary
Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:
$180,000 OTE in SF
