Job Description
We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join one of the below Credit teams:

Cash Flow Attributes & Score: This team is responsible for building & deploying models that power our Plaid Check Score built on top of cash flow data, which our clients use alongside existing credit scores in their lending decisions. This includes ownership over the key inputs to this Score, such as Network Insights and Cash Flow attributes. This team is also responsible for the platform of our Credit Insights pipeline, building on this foundation to offer things like product retros – a critical component to our sales motions – in addition to improving the performance of our insights generation for our next-generation Credit products offered via the CRA.

CRA Foundations: The CRA Foundations Team (CRAFT) is responsible for architecting the platform for Plaid’s CRA entity. This team works closely with cross-functional partners (e.g. Product, Legal) to think through future CRA product requirements and compliance constraints, translating those inputs into the scalable platform from which CRA products can be launched. On our mid-term horizon, there are a number of opportunities to expand the ways in which Clients leverage Plaid’s products, in particular those offered via the CRA entity. By offering products through our CRA, we can deliver a holistic view of a user’s credit profile by composing various data streams with deep data insights that Plaid can uniquely offer.

As an Engineering Manager, you will manage a growing team of engineers to bring our ML-powered products to life and find product-market-fit. You’ll work closely with product, legal, and engineering partners to ensure the team is successful.

  • Experience owning a production product and working with a product manager and/or business partners to drive business impact
  • Deep experience with backend architecture and systems
  • Track record of building and growing high performing engineering teams
  • Everything You Need, One Platform.
