The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a software engineer on the marketing team, you will: 

  • Help migrate our existing site from Wordpress to a flexible Contentful + SvelteKit stack
  • Support our marketing team’s ability to create self-serve campaigns and publish new content
  • Ensure our sales prospect data capture keeps flowing as business needs evolve
  • Ensure our public site is fast, accessible, localizable, and standards-based in order to boost our SEO
  • Build new site functionality to leveraging the core web platform
  • Manage content models in Contentful
  • Investigate errors in Sentry and write tests to improve code quality

The Team You'll Work With

You will be part of the Marketing Web organization. This team is the tip of the spear for new revenue generation and growing Carta’s brand presence. We have teammates across the country who love spreading the word about Carta, democratizing equity ownership, and increasing access to financial education. Members of our team have created and sold TV shows in Hollywood, been on the floor of Congress during the financial crisis, written political speeches heard by thousands, and led the rebrand of Carta from eShares.

About You

  • 4+ years of experience as a professional software engineer recommended 
  • You have production experience with Typescript
  • You care about web platform fundamentals more than any specific framework
  • You’re curious and impact-oriented
  • You aim to implement systems that are clear, maintainable, and correct while not letting perfect be the enemy of good
  • You’re familiar with some elements of our stack (SvelteKit, Cypress, Contentful, Netlify)
  • You have opinions on server-side vs. client-side rendering
