Waymo's UX Design and Insights Team brings a human-centered approach to designing Waymo's external products and internal tools. We are a team of designers, writers, and researchers that imagine and inform the future of mobility by working with riders and community members to create products and brand experiences that feel delightful and effortless and empower people to move freely with unmatched convenience. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we solve for diverse customer needs while challenging conventions and past assumptions. In this hybrid role, you will report to the Head of UX Design for Developer and Operations Tools.
You will:
- Oversee one or more parts of the our operational tools, designing the interactions and interfaces between internal users, our Waymo One service, and our go-to-market partners
- Lead all stages of the design process— from conceptualization, design, prototyping, and specification of user interfaces and system behaviors
- Guide a knowledge-based point of view for design strategy and the tooling experience road-map, balancing technical capability and team goals with a focus on the user
- Collaborate with external and internal partners in Design, Product Management, Engineering, UX Research, Data Science, and other partners to ensure product excellence
- Participate in user experience research and usability studies
- Guide solutions with teams to develop new solutions, and push and evolve mobile and transportation experiences to further our shared mission to make transportation safe and easy for everyone
You have:
- 6+ years of experience in User Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or equivalent practical experience
- Portfolio highlighting early-stage and enterprise projects that shows experiences creating usable business focused enterprise digital interfaces
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Designers, and Product Managers throughout the design process, creating user flows and wire-frames to building user interface mock-ups and prototypes
We prefer:
- 5+ years of experience with agile and lean UX methodologies
- 5+ years of experience with design systems and component libraries
- 5+ years of experience explaining and discussing challenges, with a focus on partner management across teams
- Demonstrated experience in creating usable welcome digital interfaces
- 5+ years of experience designing across multiple platforms, including Android and iOS
- A portfolio showcasing UX design solutions for Enterprise tool-sets that drove measurable results
