About the team + role

The Data Governance Infrastructure team at Robinhood is dedicated to driving innovation when handling user data. As part of the larger Infrastructure organization at Robinhood, the team closely collaborates across all areas of infrastructure. Our mission is to be the stewards of Data Governance at Robinhood, ensuring the highest standards of data protection, compliance, and security.

As a Software Engineer you will be part of an innovative team that builds software systems and tools to ensure that Robinhood handles data at scale, ensuring privacy, and always safely.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain data governance infrastructure ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Implement and maintain advanced tools for data discoverability, tagging, and classification.
  • Automate processes for data discovery, tagging, and compliance tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance policies are effectively translated and implemented.
  • Monitor and audit data access to ensure compliance with governance policies.
  • Develop tooling for automated PII detection and mitigation.

What you bring

  • Demonstrated experience you are a proven developer with experience building large projects with long-term impact.
  • Exposure working with infrastructure within a heavily scaled organization
  • Experience working with heavily utilized infra tools such as Bazel, Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, Postgres, Airflow, and Presto among others

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
