About the team and role:
Xero Developer is a key strategic asset to Xero, and one of the largest marketplaces for business apps in the world. It connects millions of small business customers and their advisors to over 1000 app partners and financial services in the Xero App Store, and tens of thousands of users of the Xero API who build value added integrations on the Xero platform.

The Ecosystem team includes Product, Design, Engineering and Marketing teams. Platform marketing is responsible for increasing awareness of the Xero platform value prop resulting in the attraction of more integrations into the Xero ecosystem and deeper engagement among the developer community.

As ‘Developer Marketing Manager’ you will play a key role in accelerating the engagement and growth of our developer ecosystem. You will support the platform marketing strategy, driving key programs, content, and comms to drive growth and advocacy within the developer community.

We're looking for this person to be based in Australia (either hybrid or work from home).
What you'll bring to the role:
  • 5+ years developer relations experience, ideally in program management, developer marketing or partnership roles.
  • Technical background and expertise working with a technical or developer audience.
  • Track record delivering effective content-led acquisition initiatives, utilising digital channels (organic, social, email, paid), events (virtual, webinars and IRL) PR, comms and community.
  • Experience building community engagement and advocacy through targeted education programs
  • Proven experience developing marketing strategy, audience segmentation, positioning and messaging
  • Experience with marketing automation, CRM and business software - Salesforce Marketing Cloud a bonus
  • Experience in a marketplace, SaaS or high-growth tech business is highly sought after.
  • What you'll do:
  • Execute on the Xero Developer Platform Marketing and Developer Engagement strategy to drive growth and engagement within the Xero partner ecosystem with a focus on content, communications, community and programs. Including:
  • 1. Program delivery that enables growth opportunities for Xero Developers and insights for Xero. This will include ongoing program evaluation and development, cross team communication, review and governance
    2. Writing targeted education and content to build engagement, increase product utilisation and inspire partner advocacy
    3. Email nurture campaigns improving the developer experience, product adoption and onboarding into the Xero App Store / platform
    4. Xero Developer brand improvements to drive awareness and acquisition
    5. Re-invigorating and boosting engagement across Xero developer social channels and community forums
  • Collaborate with Head Of Platform Marketing, Head Of Growth and Partnerships to deliver channel acquisition programs
  • Work with product marketing to ensure we have a compelling ecosystem platform and partner value proposition, and translate this through the Xero developer brand and partner enablement
  • Work with HO Platform Marketing and Product to optimize the Xero Developer Centre to improve experience and conversion through the developer acquisition funnel.
