We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our HCP Terraform Team in a strategic role that will shape the future of HashiCorp's cloud platform integration.
In this position, you'll collaborate with HCP Platform teams to create seamless experiences across HashiCorp's product portfolio, with a particular focus on:
- Designing and implementing integrated authentication and authorization experiences and workflows
- Developing unified identity and access management solutions
- Creating intuitive cross-product workflows that enhance the overall customer experience
You'll also play a key role in strengthening HCP Terraform's market position by developing strategies to improve platform resilience and effectiveness.

What you'll do (responsibilities)
- Craft the product story by understanding the landscape, user needs, and HashiCorp principles.
- Own and improve HCP Terraform platform integration strategy documents to set the context for the product roadmap.
- Prioritize the product roadmap by taking feedback from HCP Terraform customers, ecosystem partners, engineering, marketing, and the HashiCorp vision.
- Conduct user research and write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill the research into requirements for engineering to deliver.
- Work closely with engineering to write acceptance criteria for features and answer any questions they may have during implementation.
- Communicate product status to all partners. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests.
- Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc).
- Define the product roadmap and strategy
- Write product requirements documents (PRDs)
- Lead sales engineer and support education sessions
- Enable the go-to-market teams (sales, support, SEs, marketing)
- Conduct customer interviews
- Perform market research
- Backlog management
What you’ll need (basic qualifications)
- 3+ years of product management experience with developer products
- 1+ years of experience with Terraform and one or more large cloud providers
- Familiarity with coding practices in modern programming languages like Java, Golang, Node, Ruby etc.
- Strong system design & architecture skills
- Strong understanding of web technology - client-side vs. server-side, egress & ingress and basic networking concepts.
- Ability to organize multiple stakeholders towards a common goal
- Analytical with the ability to prioritize and make tradeoffs
- Comfortable talking to developers and platform engineers to work on product discovery

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$165,800—$195,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in California (excluding SF Bay Area), New York (excluding NYC), Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, Washington D.C., or Maryland is:$152,000—$178,800 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro), Illinois, Minnesota, or Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$138,100—$162,500 USD“HashiCorp is an IBM subsidiary which has been acquired by IBM and will be integrated into the IBM organization.
